About

Wretched was formed just outside of Charlotte, North Carolina in September of 2005. The band quickly got to work writing music and booking shows within six months of forming. Drummer Marshall Wieczorek was at the helm engineering all of the bands demos allowing them to fine tune their signature sound that is Wretched
After having spent the Winter-Summer of 2005/2006 writing, performing shows around the Southeast region, the band entered Studio Grey in Charlotte, North Carolina with Chris Kincaid to track their first EP. Now long out of print, the EP featured an early version of "Mephisto's Will" which later ended up on their debut full length, The Exodus of Autonomy.
The band performed countless shows, networked with many great bands and booked their own tours for a few years until Spring of 2008 when they entered the Basement Studio in Winston Salem, North Carolina with Jamie King. The band tracked an unreleased 5 song EP, all songs being retracked for their debut full length.
This unreleased EP landed in the office of Victory Records in the Fall of 2008, securing the band a record contract with the label. Quickly reentering the Basement Studio with Jamie King in the Winter of 2008, Wretched recorded their debut full length, The Exodus of Autonomy. Released in March of 2009, the band quickly began touring throughout the rest of the year in support of TEOA.

After wrapping up the TEOA touring cycle, the band began writing for their sophomore record, Beyond the Gate. The band entered the Basement Studio with Jamie King in the Spring of 2010 to record the record with an early August 2010 release. The album saw Eric Rachel mixing the record with Alan Douches mastering.
The band went on an extensive touring cycle for Beyond the Gate that went well into 2011.

With a slight lineup change in place, the band began writing their third record, Son of Perdition, in the Fall/Winter of 2011. Once again entering the Basement Studio with Jamie King engineering, the record saw an early 2012 release followed by the Metal Alliance tour for the album release tour. The band did heavy touring in 2012 and into 2013 in support of SoP.

The band began work on their fourth record, Cannibal, in the Fall/Winter of 2013. Cannibal saw the band having Joel Moore (Guitars) and Marshall Wieczorek (Drums) engineering / producing the album with Jason Suecof handling mixing and Alan Douches mastering.
The band kicked off the Cannibal touring cycle with the 2014 Mayhem Festival alongside industry heayweights Korn and Avenged Sevenfold.
The band completed more touring later that Winter and into the Spring of 2015. Wretched decided to take a break from touring after 2015 while members focused on other projects and avenues.

Although the band hasn't released music since 2014 nor been active with live concerts - they have remained at work writing music and have amassed quite the dynamic library of material over the last decade.

The band joined forces with Jason Rudolph | Unchained Management in the beginning of 2023 and secured a deal with Metal Blade Reords in July of 2023. They are currently working on their fifth record right now with a 2024 release from Metal Blade.
